Any woman wants to lose weight, and who likes to try the Greek recipes, could be overjoyed to hear about a drug that promises a lost 2 lbs (or almost a kilo) a day – and not be still hungry, tired, svogliati, bad tempered or listless. Sounds like a miracle substance but miracles do not happen in real life. The Federal Drug Administration in the United States investigated different drugs diet containing human chorionic gonadotropin (HGC) that are marketed as homeopathic drops, sprays or pellets. These preparations are widely advertised and sold on the internet; but are also available at pharmacies, pharmacies and shops general power. These so-called medicine should be used while the dieter is a very restrictive diet of just 500 calories.
In its findings, the FDA reported that these drugs are illegal and fraudulent. The use of HCG for weight loss programs has been around for the past 60 years but, until recently, that the substance was injected by a medical professional. The sudden increase in new forms of delivery (drops, sprays and pellets) sold over the counter and without a prescription led the FDA to conduct research.
The results of the research study shows that these drugs do not in any way to speed up weight loss and who claimed the actual weight loss is because of the very limited 500 calorie diet. This was demonstrated by those who study group were given the same diet and placebo – both groups have lost an equal amount of weight. Although HGC cannot be dangerous to health, and since those do not work as advertised, the allegations are found to be "economic fraud."
The FDA has also found that even if these drugs were labelled as homeopathic, Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia does not recognize them and, as such, were to be approved and therefore illegal.
